Ocho Rios

On Jamaica’s famous North Shore, whose palm-shaded beaches hug the coastline beneath the distant Blue Mountains, Ocho Rios probably took its name from ‘Las Chorreras’ or waterfalls.

Once a simple fishing village, it’s now among the island’s liveliest and most appealing resorts. Far inland extend dense forest, exotic home to orchids and hummingbirds, and setting of the spectacular cascades of Dunn’s River Falls and the nearby waters of the Martha Brae.
