Montego Bay
'Mo Bay', Jamaica's busy little second city on the north coast owed its past prosperity to butter, sugar and bananas in turn - but today it is tourism that keeps its pulse strong and whose lively mood you can discover on famous (and crowded!) Doctors Cave beach.
Most visitors will want to explore a little of the scenery and culture of this lush 'land of wood and water' - perhaps with a visit to the 18th century Jamaica of legend-filled plantation houses like famous Rose Hall, or to the Appleton Sugar Estate that's the home of Jamaica's most famous rum - or even to try some gentle river-rafting on the Martha Brae!
