HAVANA, CUBA

Cuba is a cigar enthusiast’s paradise. Cigars from Cuba have an unequalled reputation, still made entirely by hand, just as they were 100 years ago by ‘torcedores’ who have rolled them for generations, from the finest quality tobacco that is grown on the island

Cuba is a cigar enthusiast’s paradise. Cigars from Cuba have an unequalled reputation, still made entirely by hand, just as they were 100 years ago by ‘torcedores’ who have rolled them for generations, from the finest quality tobacco that is grown on the island. On this tour we will experience how Cuba’s famous cigars are handmade at a local factory. Our tour will then continue for a panoramic stop by the Museum of the Revolution, before continuing onto the Havana Club Rum Museum.Cuba has always been at the centre of rum production, ever since Christopher Columbus introduced the first sugar cane shoots on the island. Today, rum is truly Cuba’s national drink. We will learn the history of the famous spirit and enjoy a taster for ourselves. This tour involves a moderate amount of walking. There are approximately 40 steps to negotiate at the Havana Club Rum Museum. On all tours in Havana, passengers must walk approximately 50 metres (165 feet) from the ship to Immigration Control inside the terminal building, up 50 steps (although a lift is available), then a further 30 metres (100 feet) to the tour coaches. Please note that the fact we are offering this tour does in no way imply that Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines endorses smoking and drinking. Unfortunately this tour will not be able to operate if our call to Havana is on a Saturday or Sunday as the cigar factory is closed.
