Santa Marta
Located in northern Columbia by the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, the city is home to Spanish Colonial buildings and modern luxury beach front apartments - a great contrast between the past and the future.
Built in the 16th Century, the Cathedral in Santa Marta held the remains of Simon Bolivar, leader of several independence movements, until 1842.
