Picked up directly from our ship by speedboat, it is an approximate 75 minute journey northeast to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the famous Shark Ray Alley. Here we will snorkel and enjoy the crystal-clear waters and spectacular colours of Belize’s Barrier Reef – the second largest living reef in the world. Friendly fish including snappers and jacks dart about near graceful stingrays and gentle, inquisitive brown nurse sharks. An experience not to be missed! After our close encounter with these lovely creatures, we will be transferred to the town of San Pedro for a light lunch. If time allows we will have some free time for some shopping and a gentle stroll along the sand streets of Belize’s most famous tourist Mecca. The speedboat ride just inside the Barrier Reef gives us a glimpse of other caves and mangrove estuaries, and is certainly worthwhile. This is an active tour, therefore participants should have a good degree of mobility. Participating children should be 12 years or over. Please note that there is no PA system on the boat, which is not equipped with toilet facilities. Snorkelling equipment is provided. Come already wearing your swimming costume under casual clothes. Animals in their natural environment are unpredictable, therefore we are unable to guarantee sightings of any creature. Do not forget your towel and sun protection!
