Experience the full beauty of Aruba on a tour that takes us around the island and under the sea! Our journey begins at the pier, where a bus will transport us to another pier to board a transfer boat to take us to the Seaworld Explorer. A knowledgeable narrator waiting onboard will point out beautiful coral formations and spectacular tropical fish in the amazing underwater world around us.The Seaworld Explorer is a state-of-the-art semi-submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel does not submerge; we descend into the hull of this cruising underwater observatory and sit in air-conditioned comfort one-and-a-half metres (five feet) below the surface, exploring the sea life through large, clear-glass windows. On this tour we shall see the wreck of the Antilla – the largest wreck in the Caribbean – a 135 metre (440 feet) German freighter destroyed during World War II. The huge ship lies on her side in 18 metres (60 feet) of water where it is only partially submerged.Returning to shore, we will board our bus for a short drive to the California Lighthouse where we can admire the magnificent view of the crashing waves of the windward coast and the tranquil waters of the Leeward shore. From here our bus takes us to the awesome Casibari Rock Formations where we may climb the rock gardens to the top of the highest bolder. Our next stop will be at the second Natural Bridge on Aruba, we can admire this wonder, which has been carved from solid coral by the relentless pounding of the ocean’s surf. En route back to Oranjestad, capital of Aruba, we pass the Gold Mill Ruins at Boca Mahos. Please note that there are approximately 12 steps to negotiate onboard the semi-submarine. The transfer between launch and semi-submarine takes place at sea. Participants should have a good degree of mobility. For reference, there are no toilet facilities. What marine life may be seen is obviously unpredictable, as is the clarity of the water at the time of our call. Not recommended for passengers who suffer from claustrophobia. There is 5 minutes of walking involved at the Natural Bridge, over rough ground and 3 steps. There are 30 steps to encounter at the Casibari Rock Formation.
