After departing the ship, it is an approximate 15 minute drive along the Claude Noel Highway to Pigeon Point Beach. Upon arrival here, we will be led to our glass-bottomed boat, which will take us to Buccoo Reef. We will pass over the Coral Gardens, and the captain will point out different marine life. At the reef we will drop anchor for an opportunity to snorkel.We continue to the Nylon Pool – a sandbank out at sea, where we can swim in shallow waters said to be like the ‘Fountain of Youth’.Returning to Pigeon Point, our driver awaits to take us back to the ship.To participate in this tour, passengers will need to be agile enough to get on and off the small boats from both beach (wading through water) and sea via a small ladder at the back. At times the current at the reef may be quite strong. Please note that taxis are likely to be used for transportation; our driver will also act as our guide. Come already wearing your swimming costume under casual clothes, as there will not be time to change at Pigeon Point. Do not forget your towel and sun protection! Mask, snorkel and reef shoes are provided, but not fins. Life jackets are not supplied when snorkelling. What marine life may be seen is obviously unpredictable, as is the clarity of the water at the time of our call. Passengers should be strong, confident swimmers.
