Bird watching is for some a hobby, or for others a passion, if we are among either of these then this tour will help us discover a rich diversity of wetland bird life along the trails of the Copalita River.During our tour we will be able to admire fauna, including precious woods, such as cedar, mahogany, ficus, mocambos and almond trees as well as the opportunity of spotting some of the 227 bird species that fly around this area. Bird’s often spotted in the area, include orioles, woodpeckers, egrets, seagulls, falcons, sparrow hawks, parrots and approximately 20 different species of hummingbirds. We may also be able to see lizards, iguanas, deer, armadillos, squirrels and much more!!During our tour we will receive a souvenir list of the bird species found in the region, as well as a colour print with 25 of the most likely species to be seen in order to help us easily identify the birds around. We will also be taken to a vantagepoint, where a variety of avis may be quietly observed whilst we also enjoy a complimentary refreshment.Throughout our tour, several stops will be made to observe and comment. The total walking distance covered during this tour is approximately 3 kilometres (1.8 miles), most, of which will be over paths and sandbanks. We recommend that you wear lightweight long sleeved shirts and long trousers, as well as comfortable walking shoes. It is also highly recommended that you bring insect repellent along with you. Don’t forget your camera or binoculars! There are no toilet facilities throughout the trail.
