    TOUR E - THE ENCHANTED GARDEN'S & DUNN'S RIVER FALLS

    Excursions

    • 35-45
    • 4-4.5 hours
    • Limited Capacity

Here we will be able to see the picturesque Lady Jane Pool, a natural pool fed by cascading waterfalls, meandering under the majestic canopy as well as exotic plants such as the Red Shrimp, Torch Lilies and Heleconias. We will also discover more about the eco-systems, which support the jungle-like vegetation. At the ‘Ooh and Aah’ Waterfall, aptly named for its breathtaking beauty, we can take advantage of the fantastic photo opportunity and have a chance to get our feet wet!

Coming out of the thick vegetation of the rainforest, we will pass by Brain’s Falls, so called because Mick Jagger commented that it ‘washed the cobwebs out of his brain’! Nearby are the free-flight aviary and the wading pond; here we will be able to stroll under the precious Jade vine walkway and visit the walk-in aviary, which is filled with numerous species of tropical birds. We will also have the chance to learn about their peculiar lifestyles; if it’s feeding time, we might be lucky enough to have them feed right out of our hands!

Leaving the Enchanted Gardens we shall proceed onto the Dunn’s River Falls. For those feeling adventurous we may climb the 600 foot high ‘staircase’ waterfall. For others there are balconies alongside, which overlook sections of the waterfalls, ideal for photo opportunities! If time permits we may even have an opportunity to swim in the Caribbean Sea at the bottom of the waterfall, before rejoining our tour vehicles for our return journey.

TOUR NOTES: Please note that this tour includes approximately 187 steps at the Enchanted Gardens and 200 steps at the Dunn’s River Falls if passengers intend on making the climb to the top. Please be warned that it is both strenuous and slippery to climb the falls, but nevertheless it is a worthwhile and exhilarating experience. If passengers do decide to climb the falls, suitable shoes should be worn as well as a T-shirt and shorts over swimwear. Don’t forget your towel, adequate sun protection and insect repellent. The paths and balconies at Dunn’s River Falls may be very slippery so please take extra care and caution when negotiating these.
