We will depart the pier in Las Palmas for ‘Altavista’, where we will stop for an amazing panoramic view (weather permitting) of the city and its harbour. We then proceed to the north coast of Gran Canaria. Driving through San Felipe, a typical coastal village, we reach the small harbour of Agaete.
We will depart the pier in Las Palmas for ‘Altavista’, where we will stop for an amazing panoramic view (weather permitting) of the city and its harbour. We then proceed to the north coast of Gran Canaria. Driving through San Felipe, a typical coastal village, we reach the small harbour of Agaete. We shall stop for a visit of this lovely fishing village. On a clear day we may see Mount Teide on the island of Tenerife. Back onboard our coach we will continue through the green valleys of the island (‘Valle de Ageate’), en route to the village of San Pedro. We may see plantations growing crops such as papayas, mangoes, oranges, lemons, almonds, sprelitzias flowers and palm trees. In the village of San Pedro we will find ‘Casa Romantica’, where we will be served typical ‘Papas Con Mojo’ (potatoes with mojo sauce), accompanied by natural coffee, where the beans will be toasted in front of us. We can enjoy a walk through the gardens of Casa Romantica, before heading back to Las Palmas via a banana plantation where we will be told why the banana is curved, to rejoin our ship. Please note that there is approximately 1½ hours of walking involved in this tour. Please be aware that the toilet facilities in Casa Romantica are quite basic.
