After the tour of Akureyri we cross the fjord and head on to Godafoss, where we will stop as close a possible to the waterfall, there is also an option to walk closer.
From the waterfall it is then possible to follow an uneven gravel path along the river to reach Fosshóll, where we will rejoin the coach. This walk takes approximately 15 minutes. For those passengers preferring not to walk, the coach will wait a few minutes for photos to be taken, and then drive the short distance to Fosshóll, on the eastern bank of the river.
Through the wide-open valley Fnjoskadalur we drive into the part of the valley known as Dalsmynni.
TOUR NOTES: The walking involved in this tour is considered relatively easy and most of the sights can be viewed from the coach. There are some unmade and gravel paths at the Botanical Gardens. There is a souvenir shop at Fosshóll. Please note that the coach used may not have air-conditioning. Places of interest may be visited in a different order to that described.
