Manaus, ‘Paris of the Jungle’, is the capital of Brazil’s state of Amazonas.

Manaus is the Amazon’s largest city, resting along the left bank of the Rio Negro, which merges with the mighty, muddy Amazon. It has become an ideal starting or finishing point for visitors to the mid-Amazon region. Riverboats journey through the myriad of tributaries, estuaries and small creeks, where rich wildlife may be seen.

• This interesting tour allows us to have an exciting look at the magnificent Amazon jungle. We shall begin our tour with a short transfer through the city of Manaus, before we reach a local marina where we shall join our rustic riverboat for the remaining part of our journey to the Eco-park lodge, which is situated in the heart of the jungle. The area surrounding the lodge is home to playful monkeys and elusive crocodiles – both of which we shall hopefully get to see!

• We’ll take an approximate one-hour riverboat ride up the dark waters of the mysterious Rio Negro.

• Please note that there may be an approximate 30-metre walk through the floating port to reach the tour transportation. This is a busy, working port, therefore please exercise extra due care and attention when walking to your tour transportation. As with all ports in the Amazon, please dress appropriately for the high temperatures and humidity. A raincoat or umbrella, additional sun protection and a bottle of water would all prove to be handy additions to your bag.

  Please note that, for technical reasons, it is not possible for us to operate the Amazon Flightseeing Tour this season.

• Please note that the Amazon River Cruise and the Maica Lake tour are very similar in their content. During our river tours we occasionally pass children who have wild animals with them onboard small boats, previously passengers have requested to stop for photographs however this is not part of our organised tour and we kindly request that you do not take any photographs of these children.

• An exciting overnight trip in the heart of the Amazon jungle! Our tour includes transfers by regional boat, accommodation, all meals and sightseeing, and is escorted by a local English-speaking guide. Please note that this excursion fills the time that our ship is docked in Manaus, therefore it will not be possible to do any additional sightseeing.
