Experience the folklore of the Amazon during a special festival held in the village of Parintins. Departing the ship a short walk from the pier through the port gates will take us to the Parintins Convention Centre, where a festive atmosphere awaits. Upon our arrival we will enjoy a welcome drink of caipirinha, water or soda before taking our seats in anticipation of the coming show.
With song and dance, the performers will celebrate the joy of life in a mesmerising display of revelry. The captivating story of the Boi-Bumba will unfold before us – an intriguing man-made bull; the ‘Paje’ – the medicine man of the tribe; the ‘Sinhazinha da Fazenda’ and the ‘Cunha-Poranga’, two of the most stunning performers; the tribes and many other actors of this enchanting tale. With colourful costumes and ‘Bumba’ sounds, this is truly a feast for eyes and ears.
At the end of this spectacular Boi-Bumba show, we will be invited to dance with the artists and have our picture taken with them and/or their beautiful costumes before heading back to our ship.
TOUR NOTES: There is a walk of approximately 25 metres (85 feet) from the gangway to the Convention Centre located across the street. This really is an unmissable tour – a spectacular performance! Loud, rhythmic music can be expected. For the enjoyment of all passengers we strongly ask that NO photos or videos are taken during the performance. The seating at the convention centre is on one tier and anyone standing to take photos or films will clearly obstruct passengers seated behind them. There will be an opportunity to take photographs or videos at the end of the performance. DVDs of the Boi Bumba performance will also be available to purchase (however it is the individual’s responsibility to check that it will be compatible with their DVD player).
