TOUR E - KRKA WATERFALLS
Excursions

- 5 hours
- Moderate
Leaving the pier, we travel northwards along the highway to Krka National Park, one of the greatest miracles of Dalmatia. The park, which is named after the river that encloses it, is a region of natural value and intended for scientific, educational, cultural and recreational activities. It was declared a national park in 1985, and features cascading waterfalls and many different species of plants and wildlife. The river travels two thirds of its way to the sea through canyons. On its green path it has seven waterfalls, the last one being Skradinski Buk, with an average flow of 55 cubic metres of water per second.
Upon arrival at Krka, we will be taken on a sightseeing tour, where we will see the spectacular waterfalls, the last one being Skradinski Buk, its traditional watermill and the Ethnological Museum. We can enjoy some free time at leisure in which we can get a closer look at the waterfalls by following the narrow path around them, browse for souvenirs, or enjoy refreshments (at the passenger’s own cost). At the end of the tour, we re-board our tour coach for the return journey to Split.
TOUR NOTES: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking. Those wishing to get closer to the waterfall will encounter some steps and hilly terrain. There will be approximately one hour of free time, where walking is at the discretion of the individual. Guests are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes, and to bring a hat and sun protection. Please note we cannot guarantee the sightings of any wildlife.
