TOUR A - RIJEKA SIGHTSEEING & TRSAT SHRINE

    Adriatic cruises Excursions

    • 25 - 35
    • 4 Hours
    • Limited Capacity

We will depart from the port of Rijeka and complete a sightseeing tour where we will find examples of modern European architecture and rich culture heritage. These are evident around the old gates erected during the Roman times, in the theatre, on the City Tower, in the Modern Gallery, on the Trsat stairs and in the Governor’s Palace where the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Kvarner region is located.

We will then re-board our coach for the short drive to the Trsat shrine. Trsat is the old settlement and fortress that still treasures numerous artefacts, churches and other monuments. The Church of Our Lady of Trsat has been the site of exceptional religious events and gatherings for over 700 years. This is the oldest Croatian sanctuary dedicated to the Holy Virgin.

We shall then have some free time before we make our way back to our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: Please be aware this tour involves approximately two to two and a half to hours of walking over hilly ground, therefore it is not recommended for passengers with walking difficulties or wheelchair passengers. There are approximately 70 steps to reach the Governor’s Palace. For reference there will be approximately 40 minutes of free time at Trsat.
