Nationwide transfers are carefully planned by Ports Direct in order to take the most direct route to and from the cruise port as possible. The company guarantees that all private services will be operated, however some shared service routes may be cancelled if passenger numbers are low at time of planning. Cruise transfer specialists Ports Direct are proud to offer Fred. Olsen guests nationwide door-to-door transfers to major cruise ports and airports within the UK – including to/from any hotel before and after your cruise. Cruise holiday guests can book either a shared door-to-door or private door-to-door service*. Services can be booked online at www.portsdirect.co.uk.
Ports Direct Limited has an extensive fleet of high quality cruise transfer vehicles, including luxury cars, MPV's and executive minibuses, and they also operate VIP transfer services. All of Ports Direct's drivers are uniformed, will load and unload your luggage and meet you at the arrivals terminal when you return from your cruise so you can head home as soon as possible.
Vehicle sizes used by Ports Direct are dependant on the service option booked, or in the case of shared option, dependant on the number of passengers and cruise luggage booked to be taken to/from the cruise ship. This is carefully planned by Ports Direct and the cruise guest is sent a Travel Document detailing their full travel arrangements as planned and booked. Guests are provided with their driver details and an emergency contact number for the Ports Direct operations team. The emergency contact line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Secure encrypted payment for Ports Direct transfers can be made by credit/debit card using the online booking facilities provided at www.portsdirect.co.uk or by telephone to Ports Direct on 0843 0843 003. Guests booking via the internet will be sent full confirmation by email and set-up with a unique login account to Ports Direct where they can view and manage their cruise transportation bookings.
*Shared service available to & from Southampton, Dover, Harwich, Tilbury, Liverpool, Newcastle and Greenock departure ports. Private door-to-door service is available to and from all UK cruise ports.
The Ports Direct service is operated and supported nationwide, covering England, Wales and Scotland. Private services are available for transfers to and from all Fred. Olsen's UK departure ports; shared services are only available for transfers to and from selected ports. In addition, the services operated by Ports Direct cover all the main UK airports, train stations, and even pre/post cruise city tours.
BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE AND SUPPORT
Guests using the Ports Direct shared door to door service are requested to keep their cruise luggage to a sensible amount, so that it is fair to all guests using the service at the time. We suggest a maximum of one suitcase and one item of hand luggage per person booked. Additional luggage, including extra cases, walker frames, wheelchairs and lightweight collapsible scooters can be booked at the item rates shown on the Ports Direct website.
If part of your cruise package involves a flight, Ports Direct advises that guests must consider their airline carriers own baggage allowances. Drivers and chauffeurs operating the Ports Direct home pick-up services will assist directly with the guest's baggage, loading and offloading at the clients address and cruise ship terminal.
ROUTE AND ADDITIONAL PICK-UPS
Ports Direct routes are planned to be as direct to the destination as possible. Shared services will have a maximum of four additional pick-up stops on route to and from the port. Private transfer options are planned to go directly to and from the port.
TERMINAL ARRIVAL & COURTESY STOPS
Ports Direct carefully plans its routes to allow arrival at the cruise terminal approximately three and a half hours prior to the cruise ship departure, ensuring guests arrive in plenty of time for check in. Short courtesy stops are planned for every two and a half hours on journeys port for the comfort of the guests. Additional stops can be requested to the driver who will make provision provided the change to journey time does not cause a great delay arriving to the cruise terminal.
Ports Direct works hard to ensure all private and shared services remain viable and operational.
