We have a microsite dedicated to The ArtsClub, which can be found here, and details everything you need to know about what is involved, and which cruises the various themes apply to.
As a leading cruise specialist, Fred. Olsen’s aim is to provide the widest variety of holidays, each in line with its style of more personal, intimate cruising. As part of this, a selection of cruises is designated with The ArtsClub themes. Available to all who are booked on the selected cruises, with The ArtsClub you can look forward to travelling in the company of experts, selected for their reputation and - in keeping with the Fred. Olsen philosophy – for their personal touch. Each has a passion for sharing their knowledge in an informative, yet informal way. You’ll enjoy a balance of performances and lectures, discussions, practice sessions and social get-togethers.
Our comedy store is produced and presented by Script & Comedy Writer, Comedian, and After-Dinner Speaker Don Reid. He has appeared in numerous theatres the length and breadth of the country, an endless list. The stars he has worked with are equally infinite; they range from Russ Conway, Barbara Windsor & Ken Dodd, to big names from the USA including Jerry Lee Lewis, The Four Tops, Jack Jones any many more. He has written, produced and directed many shows, and published 3 books.
From Widow Twankey to Simple Simon, Wizard of Oz, he toured in farces, in fact you could say he’s had a varied career, headlining in Ken Dodd’s "Festival of Comedy" and music hall, both as principal comedian and chairman. He is a traditional British comedian, vulgar in the best possible way yet never crude. Classed by a leading producer as Britain’s No 1 production comic (maybe the only one left!) he is probably the most experienced comedian around today. His 47 years have seen him appear in:-
TV credits include "The Comedians", "New Faces", "Up for the Cup", "Boser", "Late Night Live" and "Jamieson".
