ENJOY 'AN EVENING IN' - A FIRST FROM FRED. OLSEN CRUISE LINES
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced the introduction of a new dining service – An Evening In – on its longer cruises, offering a more casual dinner, delivered to the suite or cabin. The new service will initially be launched on Balmoral and Black Watch, from 5th January 2011, and, if successful, will be rolled out to the other ships in due course. The new in-cabin dinner service will not carry any extra charge, and will be offered in addition to the existing Room Service

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be exhibiting at the Manchester and Glasgow Daily Telegraph Holiday and Travel Shows in 2011, showcasing its programme of worldwide cruises, mostly from the UK, aboard its fleet of four smaller, traditional-style ships.
The cruise line is known for its friendly and informal style and personal approach. On stand 423 will be members of the Fred. Olsen sales team to offer advice and provide all kinds of information to visitors on its wide range of cruises.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is pleased to announce that guests can now benefit from a Wi-Fi service on board its ships. Currently, the service is live and fully operational on three ships in the fleet - Black Watch, Braemar and Balmoral. It will be available on Boudicca from January 2011.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ ship, Boudicca, will enter dry-dock in early January 2011, for a refurbishment programme. The work will be carried out by the Blohm + Voss GmbH shipyard in Hamburg, when Boudicca returns from her Christmas Canary Islands cruise on 4th January 2011.
A key element of the refurbishment will be the relocation of the Fitness Centre, currently situated on Deck 4, Atlantic Deck, up to the top of the ship – Deck 10, Sun Deck. This will be the same location as the Fitness Centre on sister ship, Black Watch.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has been doing its share to help British travellers stranded abroad by the recent volcanic eruptions. Three of her cruise ships picked up holidaymakers in Spain and the Canary Islands and brought them home in comfort. Balmoral collected one extra passenger in La Coruna in Spain, Boudicca added another eight people to her manifest in Almeria, while Black Watch, cruising the Canary Islands, helped five people in Tenerife, two in Lanzarote and one in Madeira to make it home in the absence of any flights.
FUEL COST SUPPLEMENT

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that, due to the current high price of oil, it will be introducing a fuel supplement, applicable to all new bookings from Wednesday 5th May 2010. The supplement will be £3.00 per person per cruise night, to a maximum of £60 per person, and £1.50 per person per cruise night for third and subsequent occupants of a cabin, to a maximum of £30 per person.

With the problems surrounding flights due to volcanic ash, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines can report that almost all passengers had joined Braemar in the Caribbean by 17 April, and the ship left Bridgetown as scheduled, on her transatlantic cruise arriving back in the UK on 01 May 2010.
FRED. OLSEN RAISES FUNDS FOR HAITI

Following the disastrous earthquake that afflicted Haiti in January this year, passengers on the Fred. Olsen cruise ships expressed their desire to help and a fund was quickly established on board each ship. A combination of contributions from passengers and Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines led to a donation of £33,344 being sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee. A further donation of £15,000 has also been sent to the DEC from Fred. Olsen & Co. in Oslo, giving a total donation of £48,344.
