Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has launched a mini-brochure of selected winter cruises, many of which offer an additional bonus of free onboard credit. There are cruises aboard all five ships – Balmoral, Black Watch, Boudicca, Braemar and Black Prince – to destinations including the Caribbean, Canaries, Iberia and West Africa, all offering autumn and winter sun.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just launched its latest Captain’s Collection brochure, featuring 64 cruises departing in 2009 at very competitive prices. The cruises include all five ships and a wealth of different destinations. All the cruises featured – with the exception of Black Prince Farewell Cruises – also offer the Captain’s Bonus. This bonus is a choice between free car parking at departure port, free coach transfer or onboard spending credit.

Fred. Olsen’s new brochure of worldwide cruises for 2009-10 includes three complete World Cruises, all with very individual itineraries - the most the cruise line has ever offered. The ships offering these epic voyages are Black Watch and Balmoral, both designed for long cruising with plentiful storage space and roomy cabins.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has greatly increased the use of regional airports for its programme of fly/cruises to the Caribbean and Mediterranean in 2008/9. One of the most popular airports in the programme is Stansted and on Monday 3rd March, the first Fred. Olsen charter took off for Miami to join latest cruise ship, Balmoral, on an 11-night cruise round the islands of the Eastern Caribbean.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just announced two brand new cruises aboard latest ship Balmoral. BL025 is a 12-night cruise around Britain, departing from Dover on 7th October. This cruise visits some of the loveliest parts of England, Ireland and Scotland – as well as a final call into Amsterdam for some continental flavour!

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that, due to the rising cost of fuel, it has become necessary to increase the current fuel surcharge on all new bookings for cruises departing up to and including 16 April 2009 made on or after 10th June 2008. Bookings confirmed prior to that date will not be affected.

Fred. Olsen’s latest ship Balmoral begins a short season of Mediterranean fly/cruises from Civitavecchia (the port for Rome) on 1st May, with flights direct from Stansted. The 1,340 passenger ship will operate five cruises in the Mediterranean and Adriatic before returning to her UK home port of Dover for the remainder of the year.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines recently laid on a little something extra for lucky customers on their first fly/cruise to the Mediterranean from Bristol Airport. To mark the occasion of the first Mediterranean departure, Fred. Olsen greeted passengers with champagne and orange juice accompanied by delicious Mediterranean-style canapés to get them in the holiday mood.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced a revision to itineraries for two of its ships for the summer 2009 and winter 2009/2010 seasons. The new programme affects Braemar and Boudicca, and dramatically reduces the number of fly/cruises the company will be offering over the next two years.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced it will retire its vessel Black Prince in October 2009. The 441 passenger ship, which was built for the company by Flender Werft in Lubeck in 1966, will operate a series of four Farewell Cruises starting on 9th September from Liverpool, and ending on 16th October in Southampton.

Always mindful of catering to customers’ needs and offering the latest services, Fred. Olsen launched an interactive TV service on board cruise ship Balmoral when she entered service in February 2008. The cruise line chose Allin Interactive to provide this service, a company with extensive experience in the field, having worked on over 40 cruise ships.

Fred. Olsen offers a choice of cruises from two Scottish ports in 2009 – Black Prince cruises out of Greenock during May and June, while Boudicca is based in Leith from late June to early August. Both ships operate a programme of northerly cruises to Norway, Iceland, the Baltic and the North Cape, as well as cruising closer to home, around the UK and Ireland.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just launched its brochure of worldwide cruises for 2009-10, offering its greatest ever choice of ships, destinations and departure ports. The brochure features a total of 312 different ports and 134 countries and islands visited in the cruise programme. A total of 160 cruises is featured in the brochure.
NEW BIOFUEL INITIATIVE FOR FRED. OLSEN

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has signed a deal with Bio Driven of Canterbury, a new start up company dedicated to the production of high quality, compliant Bio diesel. Waste cooking oil from the cruise ships will be collected and transformed through a carbon negative process into a clean and efficient fuel.

Guests aboard selected Fred. Olsen cruises during 2008 will have an extra treat to look forward to, as one of Britain’s lest-loved game show hosts will be the star entertainer. Balmoral, latest addition to the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ fleet, has completed her inaugural cruise to Florida, her base for Caribbean cruising. The ship left Dover on 13th February, and after calling at La Coruna and Tenerife, crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean, with arrival in Miami on schedule on 1st March.
