Use of Wheelchairs
Your well-being throughout your cruise holiday is paramount to us.
We welcome all passengers relying on wheelchairs for mobility on board our cruises, but we do ask that you advise us of your mobility needs at the time of booking in order to meet our health & safety requirements. For your own convenience, comfort and safety we also request that you are accompanied by an able-bodied companion.
On health and safety grounds chairs weighing in excess of 25kg, that do not dismantle, cannot be carried ashore by our cruise ship staff at any ports of call other than at the start/end point of the cruise.
Wheelchair-Accessible Cabins
Motorised wheelchairs/scooters will only be accepted on Braemar when occupying a designated wheelchair-accessible cabin.
In accordance with safety requirements we regret that the number of passengers using wheelchairs on board is restricted as follows:
- Braemar: 4
- Black Watch: 6
- Boudicca: 6
- Balmoral: 12.
However, subject to further quotas, additional wheelchairs/scooteers can be stored on board for use ashore only. Only those cabins indicated as adapted for wheelchair use have private facilities for wheelchair users.
Shore Tours
Regrettably, unless able to board a vehicle unassisted, it will not be possible for wheelchair users to participate in the organised Shore Tours programme. However, our Shore Tours department on your cruise ship may be able to arrange private tours with the use of adapted vehicles.
Fly-Cruises
When passengers on fly-cruise transfers require a specially-adapted vehicle, then the extra costs incurred will be payable by the passenger.
