Cruise Departure Ports
At Fred. Olsen, we firmly believe your cruise holiday begins the moment you leave your home
Our 2012 cruise departures leave the UK from Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, Newcastle, Greenock and Rosyth. We're always working hard to make our cruises as stress-free as possible and our cruises from Dover and our cruises from Southampton have facilities for fast check-in, as well as comfortable lounge and cafe facilities. Whichever UK departure port you are cruising from, the cruise information on these pages will show you how to get there, as well as the hotels, car parking facilities and other facilities that are available to you.
To and from your Cruise Port
By sailing from a UK departure port, you will avoid flight delays and baggage restrictions and can simply step on board your chosen cruise ship. Therefore to make life a little simpler and to ensure the journey to Balmoral, Boudicca, Black Watch or Braemar does not pose a problem, we have negotiated special rates with a number of travel operators in the UK. Click on your departure port: Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, Newcastle, Greenock, Rosyth, to discover how to get to there by car, train, plain as well as coach.
Baggage Handling
For cruises departing from Dover and Southampton, and cruises from Portsmouth – which covers most of our sailings – you can now travel to and from the cruise ship without having to carry your bags with you. Instead, they can be collected from your home before you leave, transferred securely to the ship on the day of departure and taken back to your home on your return. The service is provided by The Baggage Handling Company and you can make a booking directly with this family-run business by calling 02380 873111, quoting the reference “FRED”.
