    Embarkation

Cruise ship embarkation is the beginning of your cruise adventure...

Waiting to embarkWe want to ensure that your boarding experience is as relaxing as the cruise holiday itself. We strongly recommend that you call our 24-hour information line, on 01473 746167, the day prior to sailing to ensure there are no delays to check-in or to the departure of your cruise ship.

Please note this is a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines recorded notice only and we regret we cannot return calls to any messages left on this number.

    Arrival
Embarkation at UK ports generally begins at approximately 1400hrs, although please check your Cruise Book for your exact embarkation time. If you arrive before your designated check-in time you be may refused entrance to the cruise terminal. For your own comfort please therefore plan your journey accordingly.

Should you wish to travel to the port or airport the night before your UK cruise departure, our partners 'Superbreak' can offer both hotel and car parking arrangements at very attractive rates.

    Luggage and Security Checks
On arrival at the cruise port you will be directed to the luggage drop-off area where our porters will be on hand to take your luggage from you. Luggage without labels will not be accepted so please ensure that the coloured luggage labels, provided with your Cruise Book, are completed and firmly fixed to all bags. Your luggage will be transferred by the porters to customs and immigration officials to carry out the requisite security checks and scans. The next time you see your luggage will be when it arrives in your cabin, leaving you to relax, and embark, without the hassle of carrying your bags.

    Check in
At check-in you will need to produce both your ticket and passport, so ensure you have both readily to hand. It is a requirement that you also have your holiday insurance documents with you. All cruise guests are required to check-in no later than one hour before sailing time. Exact details regarding where and when to check-in for your cruise will be advised in your Cruise Book. You will be issued with your Ship's Pass and Boarding Card. You may then relax in the Cruise Terminal Lounge until embarkation begins. Most cruise terminals offer refreshment, telephone and toilet facilities.

    Embarkation
The ship will board deck by deck, and once your deck has been called you will proceed through security. During the embarkation process you will also be required to have your hand luggage scanned. Prior to boarding your cruise ship, our professional photographer will stop you to capture the start of your cruise holiday experience on film!

    Priority Boarding
Priority boarding is available for Gold Oceans members. On check-in at UK ports, Gold members will receive their Gold priority boarding cards and will be embarked as soon as the cruise ship is ready to receive guests. On cruises departing from Dover and Southampton, the boarding card will also enable Gold members to claim complimentary refreshments (excluding alcohol) while waiting to embark.
